View on AmazonHow to Find the Right Size
Shopping for kids clothes can be confusing. A 2-year-old might wear anything from 18M to 4T depending on their build. That's why measurements matter more than age.
Measure Height
Stand against a wall without shoes for accurate height
Check Weight
Weight is especially important for baby sizes
Consider Build
Slim vs. sturdy builds affect fit significantly
Pro Tip
When in doubt, size up. Kids grow fast, and slightly roomy clothes last longer. It's easier to roll up sleeves than to return clothes that are already too small.
Baby Sizes (0-24 Months)
Baby clothing is sized by age in months, but weight is often the best indicator for fit.
| Size | Age | Weight | Height |
|---|---|---|---|
| Preemie | Preemie | Up to 6 lbs | Up to 17" |
| Newborn | 0 months | 6-9 lbs | 17-21" |
| 0-3M | 0-3 months | 9-12 lbs | 21-24" |
| 3-6M | 3-6 months | 12-16 lbs | 24-26" |
| 6-9M | 6-9 months | 16-20 lbs | 26-28" |
| 9-12M | 9-12 months | 20-24 lbs | 28-30" |

| 18-24M | 18-24 months | 28-30 lbs | 32-34" |
Toddler Sizes (2T-5T)
The "T" stands for toddler. These sizes are designed for kids who are potty trained (slimmer diaper area) and more active.
| Size | Age | Weight | Height |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2T | 2 years | 29-32 lbs | 33-35" |
| 3T | 3 years | 32-35 lbs | 35-38" |
| 4T | 4 years | 35-39 lbs | 38-41" |
| 5T | 5 years | 39-45 lbs | 41-44" |
24M vs. 2T: What's the Difference?
24 Months:
- • Designed for babies in diapers
- • More room in the diaper area
- • May have snap closures
2T:
- • Designed for potty-trained toddlers
- • Slimmer fit, no diaper room
- • Pull-on styles for independence
Kids Sizes (4-16)
After toddler sizes, kids transition to XS-XL or numerical sizes. Height becomes the primary sizing factor.
