WonderFold W4 review
The cheapest way to move four children, and the gate policy you should read before you order.
The verdict
The W4 carries four children for about a third of what four seats would cost any other way, and the zippered front door is the feature that makes loading them realistic. Buy it if you have three or four small children and a car big enough to take it. Check your destination first if theme parks are the reason you want it, because several of the largest ban wagons outright and the ban is written about wagons rather than about wheels.

What it does well
- The front zippered door is the feature that makes a four-seat wagon workable. Lifting four children in over a side wall is not a plan, and a door they climb through themselves changes the whole product.
- Raised seats rather than a flat floor mean children sit rather than sprawl, which matters over a long day and makes the harnesses meaningful.
- Four seats for about $499 is unmatched. Two double strollers cost more, take two adults to push and cannot be parked in one place.
- A one-step foot brake on a vehicle this heavy is not a luxury. Four children on a slope is a lot of momentum.
Where it falls short
- Many large theme parks ban wagons and wagon-style strollers, and that ban usually applies regardless of what the manufacturer calls the product. If a park trip is the reason for the purchase, read that park's current published stroller policy before ordering.
- It is heavy and bulky folded. Four seats of frame and fabric do not disappear, and a small car boot will not take it. Measure first.
- It does not push like a stroller. Compared with a Veer, steering is heavier and the ride is harsher, which is a fair part of the price difference.
- It is not for infants as sold. Babies need a lie-flat surface or a car seat, so a newborn needs a separate accessory or a different vehicle.
- Four children in one open box within reach of each other for two hours is a social experiment as much as a transport solution. Some families love it, and some discover the reason strollers face forwards.
What owners report
Published owner reviews are consistently positive about capacity and value, and large families and childminders are the most enthusiastic group. The zippered door and the seat height are the two features owners mention as making it usable rather than merely large.
The recurring criticisms are folded size, weight when loading into a car, harsher ride on rough ground compared with premium wagons, and a steady number of buyers who found a venue would not admit it.
Who it suits
- Families with three or four small children, or two plus regular visitors.
- Childminders and grandparents who move several children at once.
- Anyone whose outings are parks, beaches, fairs and campsites rather than shops.
Who should skip it
- Theme park visitors, until you have checked that venue's wagon policy.
- Small cars, since the folded package is large.
- Parents of a newborn, without the appropriate separate accessory.
Alternatives worth considering
Veer All-Terrain Cruiser Wagon Stroller
~$699
Two seats rather than four, for $200 more, but it genuinely pushes like a stroller and it is hose washable. If you have two children and want a wagon you enjoy pushing, this is the upgrade.

~$250
For a younger child seated and an older one standing behind, at half the price and a fraction of the width. It goes through doorways and into shops, which no wagon does.

~$800
If two seats are enough and you want to move quickly on rough ground, a real double jogger rides far better than any wagon and is welcome where wagons are not.
Check price on AmazonCommon questions
Are stroller wagons allowed at Disney and other theme parks?
Several of the largest parks prohibit wagons and wagon-style strollers, and the policies are generally written about wagons specifically. Manufacturer marketing sometimes implies otherwise. Check the current published policy for the park you are visiting before you buy, because it is the most common expensive surprise in this category.
WonderFold W4 vs Veer Cruiser?
The W4 has four seats and costs $200 less. The Veer has two seats, pushes like a stroller, and is hose washable. If capacity is the problem, buy the W4. If you will be pushing it for hours on mixed ground, the Veer is a much nicer thing to push.
Can a baby ride in the W4?
Not as sold. Infants need a lie-flat surface or an infant car seat, which means a separate WonderFold accessory with its own age and weight limits. Read those limits rather than assuming a raised seat is suitable.
Will it fit in my car?
Check the published folded dimensions against your boot with the parcel shelf in place. A four-seat wagon folds smaller than you expect and is still large, and it is heavy enough that a high boot lip is a genuine consideration.
Do the children need harnesses?
Use whatever restraints the wagon provides, every time, and follow the manual. A wagon tipping or a child standing up while it is moving are the realistic hazards, and raised seats with harnesses exist because of them.
